BMW and Mercedes-Benz electric power steering racks can develop wear and play in the rack. Often this wear is easily corrected by removal and replacement or adjustment of the thrust bushing. This socket is designed to allow the removal and correct fitting of the thrust bushing with the rack in situ on the vehicle.
